The letter from prof. dr hab. Leszek Orlikowski to inż. Włodzimierz Szałański, 18th Aug 2004:
Dear Sir,
You have asked me about the biologic efficiency of mycorrhizal inoculants Juni 1 and Erica, which your company produces.
As a matter of fact I started the assessment of these inoculants at the Institute of Fruit-Growing and Floriculture in Skierniewice 3 years ago due to the lack of sufficient data in Poland about using inoculants to protect rhododendrons, heathers and Chamaecyparis "Lawson" against Phytophthora cinnamomi, one of the most dangerous pathogens of these plants.
After carrying out several experiments I conclude the following: despite high population of P. cinnamomi in the basement soil, a few times higher than noted in natural conditions, we have observed significant constraint of development of phytophthorosis. It has also been concluded, that the inoculants stimulated growth of plants and better propagation.
Yours faithfully,
prof. dr hab. Leszek Orlikowski
